Description
All modern hearing aids come with a high level of moisture protection known as an IP (Ingress Protection) rating which defines the levels of sealing effectiveness of electrical enclosures, such as found in hearing aids, against dust, dirt and moisture. However, like any electronic devices like hearing aids can still be vulnerable to humidity and water.
One of the easiest and cheapest ways of minimising moisture problems in a hearing aid is to make use of a Drying Kit, this is a sealable tub in which a desiccant tablet is placed. The hearing aid is placed in the tub usually overnight and the desiccant absorbs any moisture build-up in the device allowing the hearing aid to perform to its designed potential.
This type of kit can be used with all types of hearing aids both in the ear (ITE’s) and behind the ear (BTE’s)
